Grow Your Email List With Digital Delivery

Regardless of what your business sells, growing your email list should be a top priority. If you could do just one thing to grow your email list, offering an incentive or “bribe” is a very effective method. Before someone joins your mailing list, they need to know how it benefits them (WIIFM). Offering a freebie like an eBook, PDF, video, or other downloadable file is a great way to get them to take that initial step. In this post I’m going to show you how to use Wufoo to grow your email list and send out digital delivery emails, all available under their free plan!

Go to http://wufoo.com and create an account or log in to your existing account. Then you’ll want to go to the Template Gallery and select the Mailing List template. Create a Simple Opt-In Form

You’ll then be taken to the form edit screen. Here we are just going to make one small change and add a Name field and drag it above the Email field. Best practice is to leave the Name field optional. You could also edit the label on the Email field if you don’t like the “Your Email Address” text.

Then select the field which contains the user’s email, in this case it is “Your Email Address“. And then include a reply to email address so that you can be notified if a user replies to the confirmation email.

Bonus Tip: Want to capture leads using Wufoo but still update the subscriber list on your existing email service? You can have your signups sent to your email list provider from Wufoo by using a service like Zapier. Here’s a zap I’ve shared for sending Wufoo entries to MailChimp: http://zpr.io/P46c

Get Visitors to Your Mobile Facebook Page Tabs

At the time of this writing, Facebook has yet to add page tabs/apps to the mobile version of Facebook Business Pages. What’s even worse is they recently revealed that 78% of US users are mobile! The good news is that most of the major page tab apps, including Landable, support mobile Facebook page tabs. The bad news is you have to get users to go to the shareable smart URL to enable the mobile versions. In this post I’m going to show you a simple trick to allow your visitors to access the mobile tab directly from your Facebook Page!

Get Your Shareable Page Tab URL

First thing you will need to do is find the shareable URL from your Page Tab tool. To learn how to do that in Landable, check out this post. Copy the share URL to your clipboard once you’ve found it. Now go to your Facebook page and click the Edit Page dropdown and click on Edit Settings.

Add the Mobile Facebook Page Tab Link

In the Page Info section, find the Long Description and click Edit. The Long Description is the text that gets displayed on the mobile version of your Facebook Page. So what we’re going to do is just put a link to our mobile friendly page tab here! On our page we use “View on Mobile:” and pasted the shareable link right after.

Now when mobile visitors come to your page, they can click the link in the description to load the mobile Facebook Page tab! To see it in action, just visit our page on your mobile phone. Here’s a preview:

How-To Share Facebook Page Tabs

Since Facebook no longer provides a default landing tab option for Facebook pages, the best way to send people to your Facebook page is by sending them directly to one of your Facebook Page Tabs. And preferably a like-gated tab so that you can grow your fan-base 😉

With Landable it’s easy to create a trackable link to share your Facebook Page Tab. In this post we’ll show you how it’s done!

Share Button

Once you’ve designed your page, just click the green Share button for the page tab you want to share.

Share Page Screen

This will open the Share Page window which will allow you to generate a Short URL and QR Code to use for sharing. The link created here is also a Smart URL meaning it will detect the type of device your visitor is on, and will show them a different design based on the mobile option you select.

Share Options

There are 3 options available for Facebook Page Tabs:

  • Mobile Friendly – Will render a “mini-page” version of your page tab design. It displays your page tab without the Facebook interface, just a mobile friendly header that we include. This is the option we recommend using in most cases.
  • Redirect to Mobile Landing – This will send mobile and tablet visitors to a mobile landing page design you specify. You’ll have to create a mobile landing page design first in order to use it here.
  • Show Full Site – This will send mobile and tablet visitors directly to your landing page. For Facebook pages, this sends mobile visitors to the Desktop version of Facebook (bypassing the Facebook mobile site). So your page still works on mobile and visitors will see the full version of your page, but may need to zoom and scroll to navigate.

One important note… If you want links and stats tracked under your own bit.ly account, just enter in your bit.ly info under Account->Integrations. You can always add this info later and re-generate the short URL.

Facebook Page Builder Enhancements

More improvements to our drag and drop page editor went live today! We fixed a small bug related to multiple image uploads in the Image Element. Also, really large images are now a little easier to resize since they are forced to fit on your canvas.

We also enabled support for Internet Explorer 10 in the Facebook Page Builder. We still recommend using Chrome or Firefox, but IE 10 is now an option.

Landing Page & Facebook Page Creator Improvements

We’ve deployed yet another improvement to our landing page and Facebook page creator! The latest change is to the Rich Text Element. With the new editor, you can add great looking Google web fonts plus letterpress effects to your Facebook page designs even quicker than before. There’s a bunch of fonts to choose from to make your headlines pop! You should also notice less issues with this new editor. As you may have noticed, the old version would act strange at times 😐

Quick Tip: The Letterpress effect can be found under the Styles dropdown. Here’s a sample of one of the effects applied to the Chewy Google font:

As usual, give it a try and let us know what you think. Enjoy!
